The Rossi RS22 .22LR semi-auto rifle in OD green is built for shooters who want a reliable, nimble platform for target work, plinking, and small-game hunting without breaking the bank. This rimfire combines a lightweight polymer stock with a free-floating barrel and responsive trigger to deliver the kind of honest performance that's made .22 rifles a staple in American hunting and shooting culture. At under 5 pounds, it handles like a dream whether you're working a prairie dog colony, zeroing for that first hunt, or just spending an afternoon at the range.
The OD green polymer furniture gives you a modern look that doesn't sacrifice durability—this is a rifle built to work, not to sit pretty on a safe queen shelf. The aluminum alloy frame keeps things light while the matte black barrel and receiver resist corrosion. Up front you get fiber-optic sighting: an adjustable rear sight and fiber-optic front sight straight out of the box, so you can get rounds downrange immediately without waiting for optics to arrive or spending extra on mounting hardware.
Capacity is 10 rounds, and Rossi includes one magazine with the rifle. The semi-auto action cycles cleanly through standard .22LR ammunition, and the cross-bolt safety sits right where you expect it. With an 18-inch barrel and an overall length of just over 36 inches, the RS22 is nimble enough for brush country and tight enough for a truck rack or locker without drama.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this rifle good for hunting small game and varmints?
Yes. The .22LR chambering and semi-auto action make it well-suited for rabbits, squirrels, prairie dogs, and other small game. The free-floating barrel and included fiber-optic sights give you the accuracy you need, and the lightweight, compact profile handles well in brush and field work.
What sights come on the RS22, and can I mount a scope?
The rifle ships with a fiber-optic front sight and fully adjustable fiber-optic rear sight, so you can shoot right away without additional purchases. If you want to mount an optic, the receiver and barrel design support standard .22 rimfire mounts and rings.
How many rounds does the magazine hold, and are extra magazines available?
The standard magazine holds 10 rounds. One magazine is included with the rifle; additional magazines are typically available through aftermarket suppliers and Rossi dealers.
How light is this rifle, and why does that matter?
The RS22 weighs 4.8 pounds unloaded, making it one of the nimblest .22 semi-autos in its class. That light weight reduces fatigue during long days afield and makes it easy to handle in brush, vehicles, or transition between different shooting positions.
