The Retay Gordion 20 gauge shotgun is a modern, lightweight semi-auto built for hunters and clay shooters who want reliability without the hefty recoil of 12-gauge loads. This 26-inch barreled 20 gauge combines an inertia piston operating system with a rotating bolt design, delivering smooth cycling across a range of field and target loads. At 6 lbs 8 oz, it's genuinely light enough to carry all day, and the adjustable synthetic stock lets you dial in fit to your frame—something most production shotguns skip. Whether you're hunting upland game, working pass-shooting scenarios, or running clays, the Gordion handles both 2¾-inch and 3-inch shells, giving you ammunition flexibility without breaking the bank or your shoulder.
The inertia-driven action and chrome-lined, optimized forcing cone are engineered for reliability in the field. The cross-bolt safety is intuitive and positive, and the automatic anti-repeat trigger system is designed to prevent hang-fires. You get five interchangeable chokes (Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, Full) so you can match your pattern to the shot distance and game—a feature that alone justifies choosing a quality semi-auto over a budget break-action. The flat 8mm hunting rib sits low and allows a natural sight plane, and the single TruGlo fiber-optic red bead is bright and easy to pick up in varied light.
Stock geometry is also thought-out: the adjustable shim set lets you tweak drop at comb and heel, and the length of pull (14.37 inches, adjustable via shims down to roughly 1.77–2.36 inches at heel) accommodates different builds and clothing layers. The molded black ABS stock is durable, low-maintenance, and designed for real use—not the kitchen table. A sling swivel mount is integrated, and the magazine tube accepts up to four 2¾-inch shells plus one in the chamber, with a limiter included if you need to run fewer for local regs.
For a 20 gauge semi-auto, the Gordion delivers the handling, modularity, and build quality you'd expect from a gun that costs considerably more. It's a practical, no-nonsense choice for anyone serious about 20-gauge shooting.
