The Remington 700 ADL Varmint is a centerfire bolt-action rifle built on the platform that's earned trust across generations of hunters and shooters. This .308 Win version pairs Remington's proven receiver design with a 26-inch heavy contour barrel threaded for suppressors or muzzle devices—making it a practical choice for long-range varmint work, target shooting, or hunting where precision and consistency matter. The ADL (Agriculture/Domestic/Law Enforcement) configuration keeps costs reasonable without cutting corners on the fundamentals: a solid-steel receiver, reliable internal box magazine, and time-tested action geometry.

The 700 ADL Varmint's heavy barrel is built to shoot. Remington machines the receiver from solid steel stock and uses a cylindrical design that beds firmly in the synthetic stock, supporting repeatable accuracy shot after shot. The recessed bolt face and three-ring-of-steel design around the cartridge case head give you the kind of structural integrity that matters when you're pushing loads or shooting tight groups. The integral extractor is grooved to support the cartridge uniformly—no surprises under pressure.

You get a black synthetic stock with a vented beavertail fore-end that helps manage heat during extended shooting sessions. The rifle ships drilled and tapped for scope mounts, with sling studs already installed. The 5/8 x 24 threaded muzzle on this .308 version accepts standard suppressors and brakes, giving you options for noise management or recoil control. Whether you're setting up for precision rifle competition, long-range hunting, or serious varmint work, the 700 ADL Varmint gives you a no-nonsense platform to build on.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the .308 Win threaded barrel compatible with?

The 5/8 x 24 threaded muzzle accepts standard .308 Win suppressors and muzzle devices in that thread pattern. You can use it bare, or thread on a suppressor, muzzle brake, or flash hider.

Does this rifle come ready for a scope?

Yes. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts, so you can bolt on a ring and base system and get to shooting. It comes from the factory without an optic.

What's included with the rifle?

The rifle ships with the bolt-action rifle, synthetic stock, internal box magazine, sling studs already installed, and receiver that's ready for optics mounts. You'll need to add a scope base, rings, and optic separately.

Is the Remington 700 ADL a good platform for long-range shooting?

The 700 platform is respected for accuracy and has been used successfully in precision rifle work for decades. The heavy barrel and threaded muzzle on this ADL Varmint make it a solid foundation if you want to build a long-range rifle, though your final accuracy will depend on your ammunition, optics, and tuning.
