The Pietta Shootist Tribute 45LC revolver channels classic Western firearms heritage with a design inspired by the legendary guns carried in cinema history. This single-action revolver pairs authentic .45 Colt performance with distinctive styling—a 4.75" barrel in full blue finish, laser-engraved detailing on the barrel and cylinder, and one-piece ultra ivory grips that create striking visual contrast. Whether you're a Cowboy Action shooter, a serious revolver collector, or simply drawn to traditional American firearms, this Pietta delivers both form and function.
The ultra ivory grips are hand-finished and naturally vary in tone—some pieces lean toward bright white, others toward warmer off-white—a characteristic that mirrors how genuine aged ivory evolves. That variation isn't a flaw; it's part of the revolver's character and authenticity. The all-blue barrel and cylinder with laser engraving create a refined platform for those distinctive grips, resulting in a revolver that looks as good in your hand as it does on display.
Pietta USA builds this revolver to traditional single-action specifications, meaning it demands respect and familiarity from the shooter. If you're new to single-action revolvers, take time to learn proper handling and operation before hitting the range. For experienced shooters and enthusiasts of classic Western firearms, the Shootist Tribute is a well-crafted choice that honors the revolvers of another era.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a single-action revolver and how does it differ from a double-action?
A single-action revolver requires you to manually cock the hammer before each shot; pulling the trigger then fires the round. This design is inherent to traditional Western and Cowboy Action shooting revolvers. Single-action guns demand deliberate, practiced operation and are not suitable for self-defense scenarios where speed and ease of use are critical.
Why do the ultra ivory grips vary in color?
Ultra ivory is a hand-finished material that naturally exhibits color variation from piece to piece—some grips are brighter white, others warm off-white. This variation is intentional and mimics how genuine aged ivory changes over time. Each revolver is unique, and the variation is a mark of authentic craftsmanship, not a defect.
What caliber is this revolver, and what ammo should I use?
The Pietta Shootist Tribute is chambered in .45 Long Colt (.45LC or .45 Colt). Use ammunition specifically marked for .45 Long Colt; do not use .45 ACP or other .45 caliber rounds. Always consult current, authoritative reloading and ammunition references, and follow all safe firearms handling practices.
Is this revolver suitable for hunting or target shooting?
The .45 Colt cartridge and 4.75" barrel make this revolver capable at reasonable ranges for target work and certain hunting applications, though it's equally at home in Cowboy Action competitions or as a collector's piece. Your specific use case, shooting skill, and local regulations should guide your decision on any firearm purchase.
