The Mossberg Silver Reserve 12 gauge over/under shotgun brings refined performance and genuine craftsmanship to upland hunts, waterfowl outings, and clay range days. Built on a break-action platform with 30-inch barrels and a 3-inch chamber, this shotgun pairs classic aesthetics with the kind of practical features you'd expect from guns costing considerably more. Grade-A satin black walnut furniture gives it a refined look without pretense, while the polished silver receiver with scroll engraving and gold inlay confirms this is a gun made to last and look good doing it.

What sets the Silver Reserve apart is attention to details that actually matter in the field and at the range. Dual locking lugs keep the action tight through years of use, jeweled components catch light and signal quality, and a tang-mounted safety paired with a barrel selector gives you positive, intuitive control. Shell ejectors mean you're not plucking empties from the chambers—they pop clear on opening. The chrome-lined bores and chambers resist corrosion from wet conditions and hard use, and a vent rib atop both barrels aids target acquisition and sheds rain. You get five extended sport chokes, so you can dial in your pattern for everything from close-range birds to distance clay presentations.

This is a working gun dressed up properly. If you've been thinking about stepping into an over/under but balk at the price tag on European imports, the Silver Reserve offers legitimate over/under quality without the boutique markup. It balances swing and handling at 7 pounds and 47 inches overall, with a fixed 14-inch length of pull suited to standard shooting posture.

Frequently Asked Questions

What chokes come with the Mossberg Silver Reserve?

The shotgun includes a set of five extended sport chokes, giving you the flexibility to adjust your pattern from tighter constrictions for distance targets to more open chokes for closer work.

Is the Silver Reserve suitable for hunting and clay shooting?

Yes. The 30-inch barrels, vent rib, and included sport choke set make it equally at home in an upland field, over a marsh, or on the clay range. The adjustable chokes and balanced handling work across typical hunting and sporting shotgun scenarios.

Does it have automatic or manual shell ejectors?

The Silver Reserve is fitted with shell ejectors, which pop the fired shells out of the chambers when you open the action—no manual extraction needed.

What's the length of pull, and can it be adjusted?

The fixed length of pull is 14 inches, a standard dimension that suits most shooters in typical shooting posture. It is not adjustable.
