The Mossberg Patriot Walnut .300 Win Mag rifle with 3-9x40mm Vortex Crossfire II scope is a ready-to-hunt package built for hunters who want a proven rifle platform paired with genuine optics right out of the box. The .300 Winchester Magnum delivers the flat trajectory and energy needed for medium to long-range game, while the Patriot's reputation for accuracy and reliability makes it a trusted choice among serious hunters. This combo bundles a capable hunting rifle with a scope that's already mounted and ready to zero—no guesswork, no separate optics purchase.

The rifle itself carries a 24-inch fluted threaded barrel finished in matte blue, capped by a classic walnut stock that's both attractive and functional. The fluting reduces weight without sacrificing rigidity, and the threaded muzzle opens options for suppressors or muzzle devices down the road. A fixed 13.75-inch length of pull fits most shooters comfortably, and the overall 44.75-inch length balances handling with the velocity the .300 Win Mag demands. The three-round magazine plus one in the chamber gives you four ready rounds—standard for a magnum hunting rifle.

The included Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40mm scope is known for brightness and clarity at reasonable magnification, covering typical hunting scenarios from timber to moderate distance. It mounts to Weaver-style bases already fitted to the rifle, so you're genuinely ready to hunt after bore-sighting and zeroing. At 7 pounds, this rifle handles like a workhorse—not featherlight, but manageable in the field and stable on the bench.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this rifle ready to hunt out of the box?

Yes. The Vortex Crossfire II scope comes pre-mounted to the Weaver bases. You'll need to bore-sight and zero it at your range before heading to the field, but no additional mounting or optics purchase is required.

Can I add a suppressor or muzzle device to this rifle?

Yes. The 24-inch barrel is threaded, which accepts suppressors, brakes, or flash hiders. You'll want to re-zero your scope after installing any muzzle device, as it can affect point of impact.

What's the effective range for hunting with this .300 Win Mag setup?

The .300 Winchester Magnum and the 3-9x40mm scope are well-suited for hunting at ranges from timber distances out to 500 yards or beyond, depending on your skill and load choice. The ballistics are flat enough for most North American big game when properly zeroed.

Does the walnut stock require special care?

Walnut is a natural wood and can absorb moisture. Periodic cleaning and light oiling help maintain appearance and protect the wood, especially in wet conditions. Always store in a dry environment.
