The Mossberg Patriot Predator Rifle in .22-250 Remington is purpose-built for hunters and shooters who demand accuracy and reliability on varmint and predator hunts. This Model 28074 combines a proven bolt-action platform with modern materials and features that cut weight without sacrificing durability. The 22-inch fluted, threaded barrel reduces overall heft and is ready for a suppressor or muzzle device, while the 1:14 twist rate stabilizes .22-250 bullets across the round's common hunting loads.

The Strata Camo synthetic stock pairs with Cerakote's tough Patriot Brown finish on the barrel and action for a rifle that handles rough conditions and unpredictable weather. At 6.5 pounds, it's light enough to carry all day without fatigue, yet the fixed 13.75-inch length of pull suits most adult shooters comfortably. The 5+1 magazine capacity (five rounds in the magazine, one in the chamber) gives you quick follow-up shots when needed, whether you're working ground squirrels, coyotes, or managing predator populations across open country.

A flat-top Picatinny rail runs the length of the receiver, giving you full freedom to mount your preferred optic or laser system without factory sight obstruction. This is a no-frills, no-excuses rifle for serious predator work and varmint hunting—the kind of tool that earns its place in your truck bed season after season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the barrel threaded for a suppressor?

Yes. The 22-inch barrel is threaded 5/8 x 24 TPI, which accommodates standard .22-caliber suppressor mounts and muzzle devices.

What optics can I mount on this rifle?

The Patriot Predator features a flat-top Picatinny rail that runs across the receiver, allowing you to mount any Picatinny-compatible scope, red dot, or other optic system of your choice.

Is this rifle suitable for hunting coyotes and varmints?

Yes. The .22-250 Remington, combined with the rifle's light weight and threaded barrel, makes this an excellent platform for predator and varmint hunting across open terrain.

What does the 1:14 twist rate mean?

The 1:14 twist is optimized to stabilize the typical bullet weights and velocities used in .22-250 hunting loads, ensuring consistent accuracy from zero to longer ranges.
