The Mossberg Patriot in 6.5 Creedmoor with a 22-inch barrel is a modern bolt-action rifle built for hunters and long-range shooters who want sub-MOA accuracy without breaking the bank. This rifle pairs Mossberg's proven Patriot action with an adjustable MDT stock and a top-mounted 20 MOA rail—a setup that lets you stretch your effective range and dial in a scope that matches your ambitions, whether you're hunting at distance or ringing steel at the range.

The heart of the rifle is the medium bull threaded barrel and aluminum V-Block bedding system, which locks the barrel down for consistency shot after shot. The 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge has earned its reputation for downrange energy and ballistic efficiency, and the 1:8 twist rate is optimized for modern, heavier bullets in that caliber. The spiral fluted bolt reduces weight, cycles smoothly, and the oversized handle makes for fast reloads when you need them. Mossberg's patented LBA trigger is user-adjustable from 2 to 7 pounds, so you can dial in the break that works for your shooting style—no gunsmith needed.

The adjustable MDT stock in Flat Dark Earth synthetic material is where this rifle gets practical. Length of pull adjusts from 13.5 to 14.25 inches, and the cheekrest raises or lowers to help you find a repeatable weld behind your scope. M-LOK slots on the forend let you mount accessories exactly where you want them. The drop-box magazine and AICS-style compatibility give you flexibility when you're resupplying in the field. At 8.8 pounds, it's handy enough for a full day of hunting but substantial enough to manage recoil and stay steady on the bench.

If you're building a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle that's ready to shoot immediately and customizable as your skills grow, the Patriot offers serious capability at a realistic price point.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this rifle ready to shoot out of the box?

The Patriot comes as a complete, functioning rifle. You'll need to mount a scope or optic on the 20 MOA Picatinny rail and zero it to your ammunition before you head to the field or range. The adjustable trigger is already installed and can be tuned to your preference without additional tools.

What magazine does this rifle use, and are there alternatives?

The Patriot uses a drop-box magazine and is compatible with AICS-style magazines, giving you options for spare mags and aftermarket support. The standard capacity is 10+1.

Can I adjust the stock to fit my body?

Yes. The MDT stock offers independent adjustment of length of pull (13.5–14.25 inches) and cheekrest height (2 inches of travel), so you can dial in a repeatable, comfortable position whether you're shooting prone, from a bench, or hunting in the field.

Is the barrel threaded for a suppressor or muzzle device?

The 22-inch barrel is threaded, which opens the door to add a muzzle brake, flash hider, or suppressor for 6.5 Creedmoor. Check your local regulations before purchasing any muzzle device.
