The Meprolight USA FUBS self-illuminated flip backup sights are a tritium-powered insurance policy for your AR-15. Built as secondary sights for when your primary optic fails—or as a capable primary sight in their own right—these desert tan flip-up sights combine glowing tritium vials with a straightforward, low-profile design that won't clutter your receiver. Whether you're running a red dot, LPVO, or thermal, having reliable iron sights that glow in dim light takes one variable off the table when things go wrong downrange.
The FUBS use a dual-aperture configuration tuned for precision. Four tritium vials illuminate the rear sight; one glows in the front post. The color scheme pairs an orange tritium front post with green tritium in the rear, making it easy to pick up the front sight picture in low light without hunting for your aiming point. Both sights mount to any Picatinny rail and flip down when you don't need them, keeping your sight picture clean when optics are doing the work.
Adjustment is straightforward: the front sight elevation can be dialed in without tools, and both sights offer windage and elevation fine-tuning to dial in accuracy. Windage adjusts in 0.5 MOA increments, while elevation moves in 1.5 MOA steps—more than enough resolution for battle-rifle distances. Meprolight's tritium vials are sealed and self-illuminated for years, so your backup sights stay visible whether you're shooting at dawn, dusk, or indoors.
