The LWRC Individual Carbine IC DI 5.56mm rifle is a purpose-built platform for shooters who demand reliability, control, and modularity in a compact, hard-use package. Built around LWRC's direct impingement system and proprietary bolt carrier group, the IC DI delivers consistent performance whether you're running drills at the range, hunting medium game, or training for defensive scenarios. The 16.1-inch barrel strikes a practical balance between velocity and maneuverability—short enough to handle in tight spaces, long enough to wring real performance from 5.56 NATO ammo.

What sets the IC DI apart is its commitment to ambidextrous operation. Fully ambidextrous controls—mag release, bolt catch, selector, charging handle, and sling mount—mean left- and right-handed shooters can run the gun intuitively without compromise. The free-floating M-LOK rail gives you clean Picatinny real estate to mount optics, lights, and accessories exactly where you want them, and the modular design means upgrades and customization are straightforward. LWRC's enhanced fire control group and A2 flash hider round out a carbine that feels thought-through rather than cookie-cutter.

At 6.6 pounds and collapsible to 32 inches, the IC DI is genuinely handy without feeling underpowered. The adjustable compact stock lets you dial in length of pull for your body and gear setup, and the Magpul MOE+ grip is ergonomic and durable. Muzzle threads are standard 1/2x28, so suppressors and aftermarket devices integrate easily. Whether you're building a bedside rifle, a truck gun, or a go-to training carbine, the LWRC IC DI delivers a solid, no-nonsense platform built by people who understand how shooters actually work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this carbine if I'm left-handed?

Yes. The LWRC IC DI is fully ambidextrous throughout—controls include ambidextrous mag release, bolt catch and release, selector, charging handle, and sling mount. It runs the same for southpaws and righties.

What's the barrel length and what does it mean for performance?

The IC DI features a 16.1-inch barrel, a proven sweet spot for 5.56 NATO carbines. This length balances muzzle velocity with a compact, maneuverable profile, making it practical for hunting, range work, and tactical applications without sacrificing ballistic efficiency.

Can I suppress this rifle?

Yes. The muzzle is threaded 1/2x28 TPI, the standard for 5.56 NATO suppressors and other muzzle devices. The A2 flash hider can be removed and replaced with a suppressor, brake, or other threaded accessory.

What's included and what will I need to buy separately?

The IC DI ships as a complete, ready-to-fire rifle. You'll want to add an optic, sling, and magazines to run it. The M-LOK rail accepts standard Picatinny accessories, giving you full modularity for lights, lasers, and other attachments.
