The Kel-Tec Sub2000 9mm rifle is a purpose-built compact carbine for shooters who refuse to compromise between firepower and portability. Unlike traditional patrol carbines, this 16.15" barreled semi-automatic folds completely in half for storage in a pack, vehicle, or safe—making it the go-to choice for overlanders, backpackers, and anyone who needs serious capability in minimal space. At 4.2 lbs unloaded, it won't weigh you down on long treks, yet delivers rifle-length sight radius and full-power 9x19 performance from a platform that feeds directly off Glock 19 or Glock 17 magazines you may already carry.

The Sub2000 excels where conventional 9mm carbines fall short: its folding design means you get a 30.45" overall rifle that collapses to just 16.15" without disassembly, and the collapsed profile is genuinely packable. The 1:10 twist rate stabilizes standard 9mm ammunition, and the 5 lb trigger break is clean enough for precision work at distance. Whether you're running drills at the range or keeping the rifle as a truck gun, the Sub2000 solves the space problem that stops most people from carrying a rifle as backup to their handgun.

Field maintenance is tool-free. The rifle disassembles easily for cleaning or inspection without a single wrench or screwdriver, which matters when you're in the field and need to diagnose or clear a stoppage. The blued and tan finish is classic Kel-Tec—durable and understated. Magazine capacity is 10 rounds from the included magazine, and because it accepts G19/G17 mags, your inventory of spare magazines becomes your carbine's inventory.

This is not a rifle designed to do everything. It's designed to be there when you need it, taking up almost no room until it does.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Sub2000 really fold, and how small does it get?

Yes. The rifle folds completely in half, reducing its length from 30.45" to 16.15" folded. It's genuinely pack-able and fits in most vehicle storage solutions without modification.

What magazines does the Kel-Tec Sub2000 use?

The Sub2000 accepts Glock 19 and Glock 17 magazines. The included magazine holds 10 rounds, and any G19/G17 mag from your handgun supply works directly in the carbine.

Can I clean and maintain the Sub2000 in the field without tools?

Yes. The rifle disassembles completely for cleaning and inspection without the need for any tools. Field maintenance is straightforward and does not require a toolkit.

Is the Sub2000 good for long-range shooting?

The Sub2000 is optimized for practical accuracy at intermediate ranges typical of 9mm carbine use. The 1:10 twist rate stabilizes standard 9x19 ammunition, and the 16.15" barrel provides rifle-length sight radius. It is not designed for precision long-range work beyond the practical range envelope of the caliber.
