30 Carbine

The Inland M1 Advisor .30 Carbine pistol is an American-made take on a legendary Vietnam-era conversion—compact, rugged, and built for shooters who appreciate historical significance with practical performance. Chambered in .30 carbine and weighing just 4.5 pounds, this pistol brings the reliability of the original M1 carbine platform into a handy, legal pistol format that works for plinking, training, or collection. The 12-inch barrel and modified M1A1-style walnut stock give it the aesthetic of those field-modified advisor carbines while keeping the handling characteristics that made them popular in close-quarters work.

What sets the Advisor apart is its attention to detail and American manufacture. The parkerized finish delivers classic mil-spec durability—that no-nonsense gray-black patina that ages well and resists corrosion. The type 2 barrel band, adjustable rear sights, push-button safety, and round bolt are all period-correct features that feel right in your hand. The 12-inch barrel carries a conical flash hider with ½ x 28 TPI threads, so you can add your favorite muzzle devices if you're so inclined. The gun ships with a 15-round magazine and accepts 30-round mag catches for those who want higher capacity options.

This isn't a modern tactical carbine—it's a functional piece of small-arms history that actually runs. The .30 carbine round is mild-mannered, the platform is inherently accurate, and the compact profile makes it at home at the range or in a collection of classic American firearms. If you're drawn to military history, want a fun backyard plinker with character, or are simply curious about what made these converted carbines so appealing to troops in the field, the Advisor delivers both the story and the function.

Frequently Asked Questions

What magazines work with the Inland M1 Advisor?

The M1 Advisor ships with a 15-round magazine. It's also equipped with a 30-round mag catch, which allows you to use higher-capacity magazines if desired.

Can I add a suppressor or other muzzle device to this pistol?

Yes. The barrel is threaded ½ x 28 TPI and includes a conical flash hider. You can remove the flash hider and attach compatible muzzle devices with the same thread pitch.

Is the Inland M1 Advisor made in the USA?

Yes, the M1 Advisor is manufactured in the USA by Inland Manufacturing.

What's the difference between the M1 Advisor and a standard M1 carbine?

The Advisor is a short-barreled pistol conversion inspired by the field-modified M1 carbines favored by U.S. Military Advisors during the Vietnam War. It features a 12-inch barrel (versus the standard 18-inch carbine barrel) and a modified M1A1-style walnut stock configured to meet pistol regulations. The result is a more compact, maneuverable platform while retaining the core reliability and operation of the original M1 carbine design.
