The Heritage Mfg Rough Rider .22LR revolver is a classic single-action rimfire that brings affordable fun to the range, farm, or backyard. With a 4.75" barrel and 6-round capacity, this black satin revolver delivers the authentic single-action profile shooters love—without the price tag of larger caliber alternatives. Whether you're plinking at steel, dispatching varmints, or teaching a new shooter the fundamentals of wheelgun handling, the Rough Rider offers reliable rimfire performance in a lightweight, easy-to-carry package.

Built on an alloy steel frame and cylinder, the Rough Rider handles repeated shooting with the same precision action you'd expect from Heritage's larger-bore models. The fixed front sight and rear notch sight system keep things simple and shootable, while the manual safety adds a layer of control. At just 33.2 ounces unloaded, it's comfortable for extended sessions and ideal for hunters or shooters who want a dedicated .22 for small game or practice without lugging a full-size centerfire.

The polymer star grips are durable and ergonomic, designed to handle the demands of serious rimfire work. This is a straightforward, no-frills revolver for shooters who value reliability and value—the kind of gun that pays for itself in reduced ammunition costs and pure shooting satisfaction.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the Heritage Rough Rider .22LR good for?

This single-action revolver is ideal for plinking, target shooting, small game hunting, varmint control, and practice. The low recoil and affordable .22 LR ammunition make it perfect for building shooting skills, introducing new shooters to revolvers, or just having fun at the range or farm.

Can I shoot .22 WMR in the standard Rough Rider?

No. This model is chambered exclusively in .22 LR. Heritage offers separate two-cylinder combo models that allow you to shoot both .22 LR and .22 WMR, but this particular Rough Rider comes with one .22 LR cylinder only.

How much does the Rough Rider weigh, and is it portable?

The Rough Rider weighs 33.2 ounces unloaded, making it one of the lighter rimfire revolvers. Its compact size—10.03" overall length—and relatively light weight make it practical for field use, pest control, or simply carrying to the range.

What sights does this revolver have?

The Rough Rider is equipped with a fixed front sight and a rear notch sight. This simple, proven sight system is easy to use and reliable, though it can be upgraded or replaced if you prefer adjustable sights.
