The Henry Homesteader H027H9G is a 9mm semi-automatic carbine that bridges the gap between rimfire heritage and modern centerfire capability. Built on Henry's proven lever-action platform but reimagined as a modern sporting rifle, the Homesteader delivers a compact, reliable option for target shooting, hunting small game, and backyard sport shooting. Its 16.37-inch barrel and overall length of 35.75 inches make it quick to handle in tight spaces, while the 6.6-pound weight keeps fatigue out of extended range sessions.
What sets the Homesteader apart is its flexibility. The rifle ships with a Glock magazine well adapter and feeds from standard Glock magazines (sold separately), giving you access to one of the most common and affordable magazine ecosystems. It also comes with dedicated Henry 5-round and 10-round magazines, so you're ready to shoot out of the box. The threaded barrel (1/2x28) opens the door to suppressors or muzzle devices, and the drilled-and-tapped receiver accepts optics via Weaver rails for both traditional and modern setups.
The design reflects practical thinking: an ambidextrous bolt handle works equally well for left- and right-handed shooters, adjustable aperture rear and post front sights provide reliable iron sight aiming, and an American walnut 2-piece stock with a rubber buttpad feel solid in hand. Top-mounted thumb safety, swivel studs for slings, and a 1:10 twist rate that stabilizes 9mm projectiles round out a well-considered platform for plinking, varmint control, and learning rifle fundamentals without the noise and recoil of larger centerfire rounds.
