The Great Lakes Firearms AR-15 5.56 NATO is a domestically manufactured rifle built for shooters who want reliable performance without the premium price tag. Chambered in .223 Wylde—which shoots both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition—this rifle pairs a 16-inch heavy barrel with a carbine-length gas system, delivering the accuracy and handling balance that make AR platforms the go-to choice for range work, hunting, and sport shooting. With its distinctive RWB American flag finish, this GLFA rifle stands out visually while earning respect downrange.

Great Lakes Firearms builds this model in Michigan, and it shows in the attention to detail. The 16-inch barrel comes with either 416 stainless steel or 4150 chrome-moly nitride—both solid choices for durability—and features a 1:8 twist rate optimized for .223 Wylde performance. The rifle ships with a muzzle brake pre-installed and one 30-round magazine, so you're ready to load and shoot out of the box. The full Picatinny rail handguard gives you mounting flexibility for optics, lights, or accessories without adding unnecessary weight.

This is a no-frills, purpose-built rifle: mil-spec polymer grip, mil-spec trigger, aluminum 7075 upper and lower, and a 0.750 gas block with carbine gas tube. At 6.8 pounds, it handles quickly. The 33.25-inch overall length makes it comfortable for both short and intermediate shooting distances. No sights are included, leaving you free to mount the optic or iron sights that match your mission. Whether you're setting up a duty rifle, a hunting platform, or a dependable range gun, the GLFA AR-15 delivers accuracy and reliability in a rifle you won't hesitate to use hard.
