The Forward Controls Design Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 Optics Interface Plate is a precision-machined mounting solution built for shooters who demand rock-solid optic performance on their duty or carry pistol. Made from 4140 steel with a durable black nitride finish, this plate is engineered to accept modern red dots on Smith & Wesson M&P CORE 2.0 slides with minimal deflection and zero wobble—critical when your optic needs to stay true under recoil and movement.

Forward Controls Design (in collaboration with Tangodown) designed this interface plate with both old and new optic designs in mind. It accommodates legacy sights like the Trijicon RMR that have looser tolerances by incorporating guide fences that cradle and stabilize the optic on the plate itself. Newer sights like the Leupold DPP and RMRcc benefit from the same fence architecture for added security, even though their tighter manufacturing tolerances don't strictly require it. The result is a versatile mounting system that works reliably across multiple red dot platforms—no guessing which optic will fit best.

Built in the USA and weighing just 1.49 oz, this is genuine duty-grade hardware: precision tolerances keep both plate and optic locked in place, and the included T15 Torx screws are spec'd for 13–15 in·lb of torque to the slide. If you're running an Aimpoint ACRO P1 or P2, follow the 26 in·lb torque spec; Steiner MPS users should torque to 13–22 in·lb. This is the kind of no-fuss, no-mystery optics mounting that works the same way every time you use it.
