The Forster Products Swiv-O-Ling Vise is a precision gunsmithing tool built for the detailed work that separates a solid hand load or repair from a sloppy one. If you've ever tried to hold a small part—a bolt head, a firing pin, a scope base—in one hand while working on it with the other, you know the frustration. This miniature vise gives you those extra hands you need at the bench, and its design is purpose-built to handle the small, odd-shaped items that standard bench vises struggle with.
What makes this vise different is the dual-bolt jaw system. One bolt opens and closes the jaws; the other provides countering force to keep the jaw halves parallel and prevent the work piece from slipping. That means you can apply exactly as much clamping force as needed—firm enough to hold, gentle enough not to mark or damage precision parts. Once your work is locked down, the 360° swivel mechanism lets you rotate the entire jaw assembly horizontally to reach every angle. Tilt it up to 28° from vertical, and you gain even more access without unclamping and resetting. If the handles get in your way, both the jaw handle and swivel lock are removable, giving you maximum freedom to work around your piece.
Built for durability, the swivel mechanism is rugged machined steel with case-hardened jaws that won't deform under pressure. The cast aluminum base is drilled and ready to bolt permanently to your bench—no slipping around mid-project. It accepts work pieces up to 1" wide, covering most small gunsmithing tasks, from custom ammunition assembly to scope mounting and trigger work.
