The EGW Sight Mount for Vortex Viper/Venom is a dovetail-mounted picatinny adapter built to get your red dot on target fast on a Springfield XD platform. If you run a Vortex Viper or Venom and want to ditch your factory rear sight in favor of a modern optic, this mount slides into your XD's existing dovetail cut and gives you a solid, repeatable platform for your dot. The progressive-taper dovetail design makes installation straightforward—no gunsmithing required, though if you're not comfortable working on your own gun, a qualified smith can handle it in minutes.
The real advantage here is flexibility. You're not committed to permanent modifications; if you ever want to go back to iron sights, you can remove the EGW mount and reinstall your original rear sight. The mount comes with mounting hardware and uses standard set-screw retention in the dovetail, plus the included fasteners and Loctite instructions ensure your optic stays put once you dial it in.
One important note: this mount is designed for the standard Springfield XD lineup. It does not fit the XD(M) 5.25" Competition Series or any Optics-Ready XD models, which have their own mounting solutions. Double-check your platform before ordering.
