The Ed Brown EVO CCO9 is a 9mm semi-auto handgun built for serious concealed carry. This is Ed Brown's most compact and slimmest 1911 to date—engineered around the smaller Officer's frame but optimized for 9mm performance. If you want full 1911 controls and reliability in a package that actually stays hidden, this is the gun that makes that happen without compromise.

Every detail on the EVO CCO9 reflects its concealed carry purpose. The slide is a full 4 inches long but substantially thinned to cut weight and improve carry comfort. A custom 7-top cut with aggressive serrations aids sight acquisition without bulk. The barrel is flush-crowned and recessed; the slide stop is recessed. The round butt housing and concealed carry grip safety maximize concealability without sacrificing ergonomics. Snakeskin treatment on the forestrap and mainspring housing gives you confident purchase in any weather or clothing situation. Ed Brown's modern touch includes an external extractor, a flat wire recoil spring system, and an easy-to-change front sight so you can zero it exactly how you want.

Build quality is hand-fitted from fully machined components—no casting, no shortcuts. The result is a gun that weighs about 34 ounces empty, points naturally, and handles like every 1911 you've trained with. Whether you're looking for a summer carry piece, a deep-concealment option, or a reliable 9mm that honors the platform's legacy, the EVO CCO9 delivers practical performance backed by Ed Brown's Lifetime Warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the EVO CCO9 a true 1911, and will standard 1911 accessories work?

Yes—the EVO CCO9 retains 100% 1911 controls and handling characteristics. You get the manual safety, trigger control, and ergonomics you know. The compact Officer's frame and specialized slide (4 inches, thinned) mean some holsters and accessories designed for full-size 1911s won't fit, so verify compatibility before purchase.

What makes the EVO CCO9 suitable for concealed carry?

This gun was purpose-built for carry. The 4-inch thinned slide, round butt housing, concealed carry grip safety, and recessed barrel and slide stop all work together to minimize printing and snag points. At about 34 ounces unloaded, it's light enough for all-day wear. The snakeskin treatment on the forestrap and mainspring housing keeps it secure in your hand regardless of clothing or weather.

Can I change the front sight myself?

Yes. The EVO CCO9 includes an easy-to-change orange HDXR front sight, so you can swap it out to match your preferred sight height or color without a gunsmith.

What warranty does Ed Brown provide?

The EVO CCO9 is backed by Ed Brown's Lifetime Warranty, reflecting the quality of the hand-built, fully machined construction.
