The CZ Shadow II Compact 9mm is a refined carry and duty pistol built on decades of competition pedigree. This Model 91255 combines the ergonomic refinement of CZ's Shadow line with a compact footprint—a 4-inch barrel and 7.5-inch overall length—that doesn't compromise on capacity or control. If you're shopping for a 9mm compact pistol that handles like a full-size gun, the Shadow II Compact delivers the accuracy and trigger quality CZ is known for in a package that works for concealed carry, home defense, or the range.
The aluminum alloy frame and duralumin grips keep weight to a practical 30 ounces, making it comfortable for extended carry without sacrificing the heft needed for recoil management. The 15-round magazine capacity is a genuine advantage in the compact class—you get serious firepower without the bulk. The manual safety and hammer-mounted safety notch give you multiple layers of control, while the fiber-optic front sight and checkered rear sight pair up for fast target acquisition in variable light.
The trigger is where the Shadow II really shines. Single-action mode breaks at 3.4 pounds with just 0.11 inches of travel; double-action comes in at 10.3 pounds with 0.19 inches of travel. Reset is snappy at 0.11–0.15 inches, so follow-up shots stay smooth. Whether you're running it in double-action mode for the first shot or riding the hammer back, you get a predictable, shootable trigger that belongs in this class.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the CZ Shadow II Compact suitable for concealed carry?
Yes. At 7.5 inches long and 30 ounces, it's purpose-built as a compact carry gun. The ergonomics are refined enough for all-day wear, and the 15-round capacity doesn't force you to sacrifice ammunition for concealability the way many ultra-compact pistols do.
How does the trigger feel for a carry gun?
The single-action mode is exceptionally clean—3.4 pounds with a snappy 0.11-inch reset. Double-action is 10.3 pounds, giving you a dedicated first-shot safety margin if you carry cocked-and-locked. Either way, the short reset keeps follow-up shots fast and accurate.
What sights come on the CZ Shadow II Compact?
It ships with a fiber-optic front sight and a checkered rear sight, both optimized for quick sight acquisition and low-light shooting.
What safety features does it have?
The Shadow II Compact has a manual safety lever and a safety notch on the hammer, giving you multiple positive control options for carry or storage.
