The CZ 457 .22LR left-handed rifle delivers serious accuracy in a purpose-built rimfire platform designed for shooters who operate from the left side. This isn't a conversion or an afterthought—CZ engineered the left-hand 457 Varmint as a fully realized rifle that answers years of customer requests for a quality southpaw .22 that doesn't compromise on features or performance. Whether you're working prairie dogs, honing marksmanship at the range, or introducing a young shooter to precision rifle fundamentals, the 457 left-hand gives you the control and consistency you expect from a rifle bearing the CZ name.
The 20-inch cold hammer-forged barrel is built for accuracy across a wide spectrum of rimfire ammunition—cheap plinking rounds, match-grade loads, whatever you feed it, this barrel maintains harmonics and consistency. That heavy profile does double duty: it soaks up recoil impulse (minimal as it is in .22) and provides a stable platform for mounting optics. The Turkish walnut stock follows a classic varmint profile with an American-style comb for proper scope alignment, a spacious flat forend that settles securely into shooting bags, and laser-cut stippling on the grip and fore-end to keep your hand locked in place during precision work. A 13.75-inch length of pull fits most adult shooters comfortably.
CZ's 457 platform is engineered for shooters who want to tinker and improve. The 60-degree bolt throw cycles fast without fouling scope mounting real estate—a detail that matters when you're building a rifle you'll actually use, not just admire. The trigger is fully adjustable for weight and over-travel, so you can dial it in to your exact preference. The detachable polymer magazine system is reliable and field-proven, and the barrel is swappable, meaning you can explore other calibers down the road without buying a whole new rifle. No integrated sights; the 11mm dovetail accepts scope rings or optic-mounting solutions of your choice.
At 7.08 pounds, the 457 left-hand is nimble enough to carry on a full day afield but substantial enough to deliver the mechanical advantage you need for sub-MOA group work. This is a rifle that grows with you—as your skills sharpen and your demands evolve, the 457 remains ready to deliver.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the CZ 457 left-hand really a true left-hand rifle, or is it just a converted right-hand model?
This is a purpose-built left-hand rifle, not a conversion. The bolt, safety, magazine release, and ejection are all engineered for southpaw operation from the factory. CZ designed it as a complete rifle to meet the demand from left-handed shooters who wanted the same quality and feature set as the right-hand version.
What's the trigger like, and can I adjust it?
Yes. The 457 comes with an adjustable trigger that lets you dial in both trigger weight and over-travel, so you can tune the break to suit your shooting style and preference. This is a significant advantage if you're doing precision target work or want a crisp, light trigger for hunting.
Can I swap barrels on the CZ 457, and what other calibers are available?
The 457 uses CZ's swappable barrel system, which means future barrel options may become available. However, we can only confirm the .22 LR specifications for this model. Check with CZ or your dealer for current barrel availability in other calibers.
What does this rifle come with, and what do I need to buy separately to shoot it?
The 457 left-hand includes the rifle, a detachable 5-round polymer magazine, and the adjustable trigger set at factory settings. You'll need to supply an optic or open sights (the rifle has an 11mm dovetail for mounting), ammunition, and hearing and eye protection to get started.
