The CVA Optima V2 50 cal muzzleloading rifle brings modern engineering and practical ergonomics to traditional blackpowder hunting. Built on a platform refined from CVA's higher-end ACCURA V2, this .50 caliber rifle combines a fast-handling 26" stainless steel barrel with a lightweight synthetic stock designed for hunters who spend long days in the field—whether you're glassing from a treestand or hiking steep country. At 6.65 lbs, it won't wear you down, and the ambidextrous thumbhole stock fits both right- and left-handed shooters equally well.
CVA engineered the Optima V2 for reliability and ease of maintenance. The Quick Release Breech Plug (QRBP) removes by hand with no tools—a real convenience when you're cleaning between shots or breaking down at camp. The trigger guard-actuated breech lever and neutral-balance trigger are borrowed from CVA's premium lineup, giving you a cleaner, more predictable shot than you'll find in most rifles at this level. The reversible hammer spur and CrushZone recoil pad round out the feature set, absorbing felt recoil and adapting to your shooting style.
The rifle ships with your choice of a DuraSight DEAD-ON one-piece scope mount or fiber optic sights, so you're ready to hunt straight out of the box. The 416 stainless steel fluted barrel resists fouling and corrosion—important when you're running blackpowder and extended hunting seasons.
