The Colt M4 LE6920-OEM2 5.56mm carbine is a semi-automatic rifle built on the proven platform trusted by law enforcement and military users worldwide. This 16-inch barreled carbine delivers the compact handling and accuracy that made the M4 design legendary, while the chrome-lined barrel and 1:7 twist rate give you flexibility with a wide range of 5.56mm ammunition. At 5.4 lbs and 32 inches overall length, it's maneuverable enough for tight quarters yet serious enough for duty or recreational shooting. This particular model ships as a bare receiver platform—no furniture included—making it ideal if you already have your preferred grips, stocks, or handguards on hand, or if you want to build it exactly to spec.
Colt's reputation for reliability comes from decades of refinement in combat and professional environments. The LE6920-OEM2 carries that legacy forward with a straightforward, no-nonsense design that prioritizes function over frills. Whether you're running drills at the range, training for duty, or building a precision carbine from the ground up, the bare-bones architecture means you're starting with a solid, time-tested foundation and complete control over the final configuration.
The semi-automatic action, chrome-lined barrel, and 1:7 twist make this carbine a versatile platform for 5.56mm loads across the velocity and weight spectrum. If you're already invested in AR furniture or have a specific setup in mind, the OEM2's stripped-down approach lets you avoid paying for components you won't use.

Frequently Asked Questions
What ammunition works with the 1:7 twist rate?
The 1:7 twist is a fast rate that stabilizes a broad range of 5.56mm loads, from lightweight varmint rounds to heavier hunting and duty ammunition. This flexibility makes the M4 LE6920-OEM2 adaptable to most common 5.56 offerings without concern for bullet weight compatibility.
Is this carbine a complete rifle or just the receiver?
This model ships as a bare receiver platform with no handguard, stock, pistol grip, or other furniture. You'll need to add your own components or source a complete upper and lower assembly setup separately. This approach is ideal for builders who want to customize every part or shooters who already have compatible AR furniture on hand.
What's the difference between the bare LE6920-OEM2 and a complete carbine?
The OEM2 stripped configuration removes the cost and waste of including furniture you may not want. You get the core rifle—barrel, receiver, bolt carrier group, and mechanism—without paying for or discarding pre-installed grips, stocks, or handguards. It's a no-compromise starting point for custom builds.
What's the chrome-lined barrel for?
Chrome lining increases barrel life and corrosion resistance, especially under heavy use or in harsh conditions. It's standard in professional and military carbines because it delivers durability without sacrificing accuracy.
