The Colt AR6951 is a 9mm AR-15 rifle built for shooters who want the ergonomics and modularity of the modern AR platform in a softer-shooting caliber. At 16 inches, the barrel strikes a practical balance between maneuverability and velocity, while the 9mm chambering delivers low recoil and controllability—especially valuable if you're training new shooters, running drills at speed, or simply prefer less felt impulse without sacrificing accuracy. This semi-automatic rifle feeds from 32-round magazines, giving you serious capacity for the range or defensive scenarios where follow-up rounds matter.
The AR6951 is purpose-built for the AR-platform shooter who already knows the controls. Its design mirrors the manual of arms you'll find on M16 and M4 variants, so if you've trained on military or law enforcement carbines, you're home immediately. The straight-line design and lightweight recoil of 9mm keep muzzle climb minimal, letting you stay on target through rapid fire. Field stripping requires no special tools, and the modular rail system means you can mount optics, lights, or other ancillaries without hunting for adapters.
Constructed from aluminum with a four-position collapsible buttstock, the rifle is both durable and adjustable for different shooters. The A2 flash hider helps manage muzzle signature indoors or in low light. Overall length ranges from 32 to 35 inches depending on stock position, keeping the package handy without sacrificing sight radius. Whether you're setting up a dedicated 9mm rifle for training, running a PCC (pistol caliber carbine) course, or building a home-defense rifle that's easy to shoot and control, the Colt AR6951 delivers reliable, familiar AR handling in a do-everything 9mm package.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this rifle if I'm trained on an M4 or M16?
Yes. The Colt AR6951 uses the same manual of arms and controls as the M16A2, M16A4, M4, and M4 Commando platforms. Your existing training transfers directly, and operation is straightforward if you're familiar with any standard AR-pattern rifle.
What magazines does the Colt AR6951 use?
The rifle is supplied with a 32-round magazine and feeds from standard 9mm AR magazines compatible with that capacity.
Is this rifle good for training and practice?
Absolutely. The 9mm caliber produces low recoil and minimal muzzle climb, which makes it excellent for training, high-volume practice, and improving accuracy without fatigue—especially for newer or recoil-sensitive shooters.
Can I mount a scope or red dot on this rifle?
Yes. The modular rail system allows you to mount optics, red dots, lights, and other ancillary devices where you need them.
