The Colt Anaconda 6" .44 Magnum revolver brings back a legendary name with a thoroughly modern platform. Built on an oversized Python action and clad in stainless steel, this six-shot magnum is engineered for hunters and sport shooters who demand a serious wheelgun capable of handling the biggest game and toughest hunting conditions. The 2021 redesign respects the Anaconda's pedigree while delivering the refinements serious shooters expect from a premium double-action magnum revolver.
What sets the Anaconda apart is its trigger action. The Linear Leaf Spring mechanism eliminates stacking and delivers a smooth, consistent pull from takeup to break—a genuine advantage whether you're on the bench, in the field, or running drills at the range. Pair that with Hogue overmolded grips that manage recoil without sacrificing control, and you've got a gun that's both shootable and comfortable during extended sessions. The stainless steel frame handles the inherent recoil of full-power .44 Magnum loads without complaint.
Practicality is baked into the design. A recessed target crown protects the muzzle while supporting precision, and the frame is drilled and tapped for optics mounts—a smart feature for hunters who want to leverage modern glass on a proven cartridge. Adjustable target-style rear sights and a red ramp front sight give you solid irons right out of the box, and you can dial in your load at any distance. Overall length of 13 inches strikes a balance between shootability and carry for a hunting revolver, while the 53-ounce weight helps manage magnum recoil.
The Anaconda isn't a compromise gun; it's a statement that magnum revolvers still have a place in a serious shooter's battery. Whether you're hunting hog, bear, or testing yourself at Magnum Match competitions, Colt built this one to perform.
