The Cimarron US Artillery .45 Long Colt revolver brings authentic Old West history into your hands. Built on the Uberti USV platform with period-correct markings and construction, this 5.5" single-action is modeled after the shortened cavalry revolvers that saw service during the Spanish-American War—particularly the models carried by Roosevelt's Roughriders during their famous charge up San Juan Hill. Whether you're a serious cowboy action shooter, historical firearms collector, or someone drawn to America's frontier heritage, this revolver delivers genuine character and reliable performance in a compact, carry-friendly package.

The fixed-sight configuration keeps things simple and honest, just as the original artillery models were issued. The case-hardened Old Model frame displays authentic U.S. Artillery markings that speak to its historical inspiration, while the standard blue finish and single-piece walnut grip with RAC cartouche add to the gun's traditional appeal. At just over two pounds, it handles like a proper fighting revolver—balanced enough for extended shooting sessions yet nimble enough for quick work.

.45 Long Colt is a storied cartridge with modern ammunition readily available, making this revolver both historically faithful and practically shootable. The 5.5" barrel is the sweet spot for cavalry-pattern revolvers: short enough to clear leather quickly, long enough to deliver decent velocity and accuracy at typical handgun distances. This is a revolver built for those who appreciate the craftsmanship of the original designs and want something that shoots as good as it looks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this revolver a historically accurate reproduction?

This Cimarron is modeled on the 1873 U.S. Cavalry artillery models—shorter, refurbished versions of the original 7.5" cavalry revolvers. The case-hardened frame carries authentic U.S. Artillery markings, and the overall design and finish reflect the firearms carried during the Spanish-American War era, including those used by the Roughriders.

What ammunition does the .45 Long Colt use?

.45 Long Colt is a classic American cartridge still widely loaded by major ammunition manufacturers and available from most retailers. It's the same round used in many cowboy action matches and period revolvers.

What are the fixed sights like?

Fixed sights are simple and rugged—no adjustable parts to break or lose. They're set for typical revolver distances and offer a straightforward sight picture. For most handgun use, including cowboy action shooting, fixed sights perform reliably and won't require adjustment.

Is this suitable for cowboy action shooting?

Yes. The .45 Long Colt caliber, period-correct appearance, and single-action operation make this revolver well-suited for cowboy action shooting competitions and recreational use.
