The Charles Daly Honcho 12-gauge shotgun is a pump-action workhorse built for serious tactical and defensive use. With an 18.5-inch barrel, compact 31.5-inch overall length, and a distinctively short bird's head grip, the Honcho delivers maneuverability in tight quarters without sacrificing the reliability of a proven pump-action design. At just 5 pounds, it's light enough for extended handling yet substantial enough to manage 12-gauge recoil confidently. This is a gun that favors function over frills—American-made and purpose-built.
The Honcho's rubberized bird's head grip is the centerpiece of its design. Unlike traditional stock designs, the bird's head setup reduces overall length dramatically while maintaining a secure firing grip. It's a configuration that appeals to shooters who value compact carry and quick target acquisition—ideal for home defense, sport shooting, or tactical training. The synthetic materials throughout resist weather and abuse, and the aluminum receiver paired with a steel barrel keeps weight down without compromise.
Magazine capacity sits at 5+1 (five in the tube, one in the chamber), and the fixed front blade sight keeps things simple and reliable. The shotgun features a manual safety, automatic extraction, and a single-stage trigger. The receiver is drilled and tapped, opening the door to optics or other hardware if you want to build on the base platform. Charles Daly's reputation for value is backed here by domestic receiver manufacturing and a no-nonsense approach to shotgun design.
