The Charles Daly 601 is a gas-operated semi-auto shotgun built to handle a day in the field without fuss. With a 28-inch barrel, 4-round capacity, and a proven gas-action design, it's a versatile choice for hunters and sport shooters who want reliability in a modern platform. The receiver is grooved for scope mounting, making it adaptable to optics if you want them, and the full Mossy Oak Country DNA camo finish blends into most hunting environments.

The 601 chambers 3-inch 12-gauge loads, giving you flexibility with factory ammunition. Its manual safety is straightforward and positive. The gun feeds from a standard magazine tube and cycles cleanly through its semi-auto action—no pump fatigue over long days. Ejection is automatic, so spent shells exit reliably. The checkered synthetic stock and forend are built for grip and durability; the camo pattern is applied to both, creating a cohesive, finished look that works as well on a duck marsh as it does in upland cover.

At 7.2 pounds and 48.5 inches overall length, the 601 balances handling with substance. The aluminum receiver keeps weight down while the steel barrel ensures longevity. It ships with three Beretta/Benelli Mobil Choke tubes (IC, M, F) so you can tailor patterns to your quarry—tighter chokes for longer shots, more open tubes for closer work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What chokes come with the Charles Daly 601?

The shotgun ships with three Beretta/Benelli Mobil Choke tubes: Improved Cylinder (IC), Modified (M), and Full (F). This gives you versatility for hunting different game or adjusting to shooting distance and pattern preference.

Can I mount optics on this shotgun?

Yes. The receiver is grooved for scope mounting, so you can add optics if desired for your hunting or sport shooting application.

What ammunition does the Charles Daly 601 accept?

The shotgun is chambered in 12 gauge and accepts 3-inch shells, so you have access to a wide range of factory-loaded ammunition suitable for hunting or sport shooting.

Is this shotgun suitable for waterfowl or upland hunting?

With its 28-inch barrel, interchangeable chokes, and Mossy Oak camo finish, the 601 is well-suited to both applications. Swap in an IC or M choke for upland work or tighter patterns for waterfowl, and the gas action reduces felt recoil on longer days afield.
