The Charles Daly 202A 28 gauge shotgun is a lightweight, refined break-action shotgun built for hunters and sport shooters who value nimble handling and classic aesthetics. At just 6.4 pounds with a 26-inch barrel, this 28 gauge offers a gentler recoil profile than its 12 and 20 gauge cousins—ideal for upland game, clay sports, or anyone who wants to spend more time shooting and less time nursing a sore shoulder. The white walnut stock and forend, both checkered for secure grip in wet conditions, give the 202A a timeless look that works equally well in the field or at the range.

The single-selective mechanical trigger lets you choose which barrel fires first, and the manual safety keeps you in full control. The fixed fiber optic front sight makes acquiring targets fast and intuitive. Both barrels are threaded for Beretta/Benelli Mobil choke tubes (MC-5), so you can tailor your shot pattern to the task at hand—tight for distant birds, open for closer work. The receiver is hand-engraved with a subtle dog scene, a nice touch that reflects Charles Daly's reputation for value-conscious quality.

This is a working gun: aluminum construction keeps weight reasonable, the extractor cycles spent shells reliably, and the 3-inch chamber accepts both 2¾ and 3-inch loads. Whether you're introducing someone to shotgunning, hunting quail in Texas, or competing in skeet, the 202A's balance of elegance, ease of use, and genuine performance makes it worth considering in an increasingly marginal gauge.
