The Browning X-Bolt 2 Mountain Pro in 6.5 PRC is a modern bolt-action hunting rifle built for shooters who demand lightweight performance without compromise on accuracy. This 2024 model features a carbon fiber stock paired with a stainless steel barrel wrapped in carbon fiber—serious weight savings that matter when you're glassing ridges or hiking into elk country. The 24-inch barrel is threaded (5/8-24) and ships with a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake and thread protector, giving you flexibility to suppress or customize as your hunting evolves.

The redesigned X-Bolt 2 platform brings real improvements to the shooter experience. A new spiral-fluted bolt with extended handle and reshaped knob cycles smoothly and clears large optics cleanly. The receiver has additional bolt guidance surfaces and is bedded at the recoil lug and action screws for reliable accuracy shot after shot. You get Browning's new patent-pending DLX adjustable trigger tuned to hunting weights—crisp and predictable. The Carbon Gray Cerakote finish on the stainless action and barrel resists rust and looks the part, while the top-tang safety and bolt unlock button combine for safe, intuitive handling in the field.

The X-Lock scope mounting system uses four screws per base for non-negotiable optic security, and the Inflex recoil pad helps manage the 6.5 PRC's kick. This is the rifle for hunters who want to cover country fast and trust their shot at distance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What comes in the box with this rifle?

The X-Bolt 2 Mountain Pro ships with a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake and thread protector already accounted for. You'll need to source a scope separately and mount it using the X-Lock system bases.

Is the barrel free-floated for accuracy?

Yes. The action is bedded at the recoil lug and action screws, and the barrel is free-floated to promote consistent shot placement.

What does the DLX trigger feel like?

The new patent-pending DLX trigger is adjustable and factory-set to hunting weights—designed for reliable performance in the field without the extreme light pull of a competition trigger.

Can I suppress this rifle or add other muzzle devices?

The barrel is threaded 5/8-24 and ships with a thread protector, so yes—you can swap the included Recoil Hawg brake for a suppressor or other compatible device.
