The Browning X-Bolt 2 Hells Canyon McMillan LR is a long-range big game hunting rifle built for shooters who demand accuracy without compromise. Chambered in 6.8 WSM and topped with a 24-inch heavy sporter barrel, this rifle combines Browning's redesigned X-Bolt 2 action with McMillan's proven Game Scout composite stock to deliver the precision and reliability serious hunters expect. The OVIX camouflage finish and Smoked Bronze Cerakote on the action give you a modern, durable rifle that performs as good as it looks in the field.
Everything about the X-Bolt 2 Hells Canyon is engineered for long-range hunting. The fluted, free-floating barrel enhances accuracy, while the included Recoil Hawg muzzle brake helps manage the 6.8 WSM's recoil and keep you on target. The new Plus Magazine System gives you extra cartridge capacity, and the spiral-fluted bolt with extended handle and redesigned knob cycles fast and clears large optics easily—a 60-degree lift keeps things snappy when you need it. Up top, the 20 MOA Picatinny rail is ready for your glass, and the patent-pending DLX trigger is tuned for hunting weights right out of the box.
Browning's X-Bolt 2 receiver geometry is refined with better bolt guidance for silky smooth operation, and the action is bedded at the recoil lug and screws to lock everything in place and free-float the barrel for consistency. The Pachmayr Decelerator pad absorbs punishment, while the top-tang safety is intuitive and easy to reach. You also get a Bolt Unlock Button that works with the safety for added security when checking the chamber. X-Lock Scope bases use four screws per base for rock-solid optics mounting—no guessing whether your glass will stay put.
If you're hunting elk, deer, or anything in between at distance, the X-Bolt 2 Hells Canyon McMillan LR gives you a rifle that shoots, handles, and looks like it was built for exactly what you do.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the 6.8 WSM caliber best used for?
The 6.8 WSM (Winchester Short Magnum) is a proven long-range big game cartridge, effective for hunting elk, deer, and other medium to large game at extended distances. It balances power, velocity, and recoil in a compact, efficient package.
Will this rifle work with standard rifle optics and mounts?
The X-Bolt 2 features a 20 MOA Picatinny rail and X-Lock scope base system with four screws per base for secure optics mounting. You'll need rings compatible with Picatinny rail systems and your choice of optic.
How does the Recoil Hawg muzzle brake help?
The included Recoil Hawg muzzle brake redirects gases to reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise, helping you stay on target for follow-up shots and making the rifle more pleasant to shoot, especially with the 6.8 WSM's magnum-level power.
What's included in the Plus Magazine System?
The new Plus Magazine System provides extra cartridge capacity compared to standard X-Bolt magazines, allowing you to carry more ammunition in the field without changing your rifle's profile or ergonomics.
