The Browning X-Bolt 2 Speed in 6.5 PRC is a modern bolt-action hunting rifle built on a completely redesigned platform that prioritizes accuracy, shooter fit, and reliable cycling. This rifle combines Browning's proven X-Bolt action heritage with new engineering—fresh receiver geometry, a spiral-fluted bolt with an ergonomic knob shape, and a short 60° bolt lift that cycles fast and clears most optics without interference. The 24-inch fluted sporter-weight barrel delivers the accuracy hunters expect while keeping overall weight manageable for field work.
What sets the X-Bolt 2 Speed apart is the Vari-Tech composite stock, which goes beyond one-size-fits-all ergonomics. The comb is adjustable for height, length of pull is user-adjustable, and the grip angle is fully customizable—meaning you can fine-tune the rifle to your exact body mechanics and shooting style. The stock wears Browning's OVIX camouflage pattern and features black overmolded grip surfaces that work in wet conditions. A new 1-1/4" Inflex recoil pad rounds out the handling package.
The rifle's receiver is bedded at both the recoil lug and action screws for precision, while the barrel floats free for consistent accuracy. A radial muzzle brake tames recoil, and a durable Smoked Bronze Cerakote finish handles the elements better than traditional bluing. The new adjustable DLX trigger is factory-set to hunting weights. On the safety side, the easy-reach top-tang safety works with a bolt-unlock button to give you added control during chamber checks and unloading. Finally, the X-Lock scope mounting system uses four screws per base, locking your optic down with zero shift.
For hunters stepping up to 6.5 PRC or anyone building a modern, accuracy-first hunting rifle that adapts to your body rather than forcing you to adapt to it, the X-Bolt 2 Speed is worth a serious look.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the stock really adjustable, and what can I customize?
Yes. The Vari-Tech composite stock allows you to adjust length of pull, comb height, and grip angle. You can also swap between sporter and vertical grip options, so the rifle fits your body and shooting position, not the other way around.
What scope mounting system does the X-Bolt 2 Speed use?
The rifle uses Browning's X-Lock scope mounting system, which attaches four screws per base directly to the receiver for a rock-solid, zero-shift connection.
Why does the short bolt lift angle matter?
The 60° bolt lift is fast and efficient for quick follow-up shots, and the short throw means it clears most modern hunting optics mounted on the receiver without interference.
What finish protects the barrel and receiver?
The receiver and barrel wear a Smoked Bronze Cerakote finish, which is more durable than traditional bluing or bare stainless steel against moisture and wear.
