The Browning BAR MK 3 Stalker in 300 Win Mag is a semi-automatic rifle built for serious hunters who want reliability, power, and a gas-operated platform that handles the recoil of a magnum cartridge without breaking your shoulder. This is a real working rifle for elk, moose, and long-range game—not a range toy. The BAR's proven gas-piston system cycles smoothly and keeps you on target for follow-up shots, which matters when you're hunting the country where distance and harsh conditions are the baseline.
The Stalker trim keeps things practical: a 24-inch steel barrel in matte blued finish, a lightweight composite stock in matte black, and a matte black receiver that won't catch light or give away your position. At 7 lbs 8 oz, it's manageable for a day pack but substantial enough to settle into the recoil well. The 13 5/8-inch length of pull fits a wide range of shooters, and the polymer recoil pad takes the edge off a magnum's kick. A 3-round magazine keeps the rifle compact and complies with regulations in many states, while the chrome-plated chamber adds durability where it counts most.
This is a rifle for hunters who value function over flash—folks who've done the work to understand their caliber and their game, and who trust a platform that's been proven in the field for decades. If you're after a magnum semi-auto that balances power, reliability, and practical weight, the BAR MK 3 Stalker delivers without the guesswork.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Browning BAR MK 3 Stalker good for hunting elk or moose?
Yes. The 300 Winchester Magnum is a proven magnum cartridge for large game at distance. The gas-operated platform lets you stay on target between shots, which is a real advantage in a hunting scenario where a follow-up may be necessary. The Stalker trim keeps the package light and manageable in the field.
What's the length of pull, and will it fit me?
The Browning BAR MK 3 Stalker has a 13 5/8-inch length of pull, which fits most adult shooters and many younger hunters or those with shorter arms. If you're between sizes, this dimension is worth measuring against your current rifles before purchase.
Why does this rifle have a 3-round magazine instead of more capacity?
The 3-round magazine capacity is intentional and reflects compliance with regulations in many states for hunting. It also keeps the overall profile compact—valuable when glassing ridges or moving through timber. You can still reload quickly for follow-up shots if needed.
Is the composite stock and matte black finish durable for hard use?
Yes. The composite stock is designed to handle weather and rough handling without cracking or warping like wood can. The matte finishes on the barrel and receiver are rust-resistant and won't broadcast light like glossy surfaces. This is a no-nonsense finish scheme meant for function.
