The Browning AB3 Composite Stalker in .243 Winchester is a lightweight, no-nonsense rifle built for hunters who cover ground. At 6 lbs 11 oz, it's nimble enough for all-day stalks across open country or thick timber, yet accurate and reliable enough to anchor deer, antelope, or varmints out to practical hunting distances. The .243 Win delivers flat trajectory and minimal recoil—ideal for younger or recoil-sensitive shooters, or anyone who values precision over brute force. This is a rifle that gets to where you need to be and does the job when you get there.

The AB3 action is Browning's modern, straightforward platform: a steel receiver and bolt engineered for strength and repeatability, paired with a matte blued finish that sheds light and wears well in the field. The 22-inch sporter-contour barrel is threaded with a 1-in-10 twist, optimized for standard .243 loads. A detachable five-round magazine keeps feeding simple and reliable, while the composite stock and textured grip panels provide sure handling in wet or gloved conditions. The polymer recoil pad tames what little kick the .243 produces, making follow-up shots faster and shooting more pleasant during a long day at the range or in the field.

Factory drilled and tapped for scope rings, the Stalker accepts your choice of optics without gunsmith work—whether you're mounting a lightweight variable for backcountry glassing or a fixed-power scope for simplicity. The 13 5/8-inch length of pull fits most adult frames comfortably. If you're building a versatile, lightweight rifle that handles like a carbine but performs like a full-size hunter, the AB3 Composite Stalker delivers honest capability without excess weight or complexity.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of scope mounting options does the AB3 Composite Stalker have?

Is the .243 Winchester good for hunting deer and other game?

Yes. The .243 Win is a proven deer and antelope round with a flat trajectory and low recoil, making it popular for hunters of all experience levels. It's also effective on varmints and predators. Shot placement and appropriate ammunition are always the foundation of ethical hunting.

What's the length of pull, and will it fit me?

The AB3 Stalker has a 13 5/8-inch length of pull, which is standard for adult rifles and suitable for most shooters of typical frame size. If you have a longer or shorter arm length, verify fit before purchase or discuss custom options with a gunsmith.
