The Bond Arms Texas Defender .45 ACP derringer is a classic American pocket pistol built on principles that have worked for over 150 years: simplicity, reliability, and stopping power in the smallest possible package. This 3-inch barrel version chambers .45 ACP, one of the most respected defensive rounds available, and delivers two rounds of serious firepower in a steel frame small enough to carry anywhere. If you need a deep-concealment backup gun, a truck-safe alternative to leaving a full-size pistol unattended, or a proven last-resort option for everyday carry, the Texas Defender earns its place in the Bond Arms lineup.
At 20 ounces with satin-finished stainless steel construction, this derringer combines heft and durability with genuine portability. The rosewood grips give you a secure, traditional feel, while the fixed rear blade and front sights keep you on target when it counts. Bond Arms engineered the Texas Defender with a spring-loaded cammed locking lever that creates a snug barrel-to-frame fit and speeds up barrel swaps—a huge advantage if you want to keep different caliber barrels on hand and switch between them. The rebounding hammer and retracting firing pins protect against accidental discharge, and the crossbolt safety provides an extra layer of security during carry.
Single-action operation means you control the trigger and know exactly when the gun will fire. The interchangeable barrel system is one of the Texas Defender's standout features; you can pivot barrels quickly and adapt to different ammunition or uses without needing a gunsmith. Whether you're stocking a truck, building a deep-carry backup rotation, or exploring ultralight trail defense, this .45 ACP derringer delivers Bond Arms' no-nonsense engineering in a form factor that goes where other pistols can't.

Frequently Asked Questions
What calibers can I shoot in the Texas Defender if I buy extra barrels?
The Texas Defender is designed with interchangeable barrels, so you can swap to different caliber barrels if you purchase them separately. The .45 ACP barrel comes standard; Bond Arms offers other barrel options for different cartridges, though specific compatibility should be confirmed with the manufacturer or your retailer.
Is the Texas Defender suitable for concealed carry?
Yes. At 20 ounces and just 5 inches long, the Texas Defender is one of the smallest, lightest pistols available. It's designed for deep-carry backup use, truck safes, ankle carry, or pocket carry in a quality holster. The compact dimensions and weight make it genuinely concealable where larger pistols simply won't fit.
How does the crossbolt safety work?
The crossbolt safety is a simple mechanical switch that prevents accidental firing during carry or handling. It works in combination with the rebounding hammer and retracting firing pins to provide layered safety.
Can I use modern .45 ACP ammunition in this gun?
The Texas Defender is chambered in .45 ACP, so it fires standard .45 ACP cartridges. Specific ammunition recommendations and performance data should come from Bond Arms or your authorized dealer.
