The Bond Arms Roughneck .38 Spl/.357 Mag is a compact, purpose-built derringer that trades traditional aesthetics for genuine utility and reliability. Built on a stainless steel frame and barrel, this double-barrel pistol delivers serious stopping power in a package small enough to pocket, making it an appealing backup gun, deep-carry option, or truck gun for hunters and shooters who value simplicity and ruggedness over capacity. The 2.5-inch barrel gives you practical range and velocity while keeping the overall length to 4.5 inches—short enough to conceal, long enough to handle with authority.

The Roughneck is built tough. Stainless steel construction resists corrosion and handles neglect better than blued guns, which matters if you're carrying in the field, truck bed, or backcountry. The patented rebounding hammer and retracting firing pins protect the firing pin when the gun is carried loaded, and the cross-bolt safety is positioned logically for quick manipulation. A spring-loaded cammed locking lever keeps both barrels locked securely—there's no fumbling or guessing. Fixed front blade and rear sights are straightforward; they don't break and they work when it matters.

One of the Roughneck's biggest advantages is versatility. The gun ships with .38 Special/.357 Magnum chambers, but the patented interchangeable barrel system means you can swap to standard Bond Arms barrels in other calibers to customize your setup—a genuine option for shooters who want flexibility without buying multiple guns. The rubber grip provides a secure hold under stress, and the standard grip size fits most hands well. At 19 ounces, it's light enough to carry all day without fatigue, but heavy enough to manage recoil responsibly.

This is not a gun for everyone—derringers require understanding their two-shot limitation and deliberate trigger work—but for experienced shooters seeking a reliable, no-frills backup or specialized carry option, the Roughneck delivers proven Bond Arms quality at a practical size.
