The Bergara B-14 Sierra Wilderness in 6.5 Creedmoor is a purpose-built hunting rifle that bridges traditional sporter ergonomics with modern adjustability. Built around a 4140 CrMo steel fluted barrel in a No. 5 taper profile and finished in durable Sniper Grey Cerakote, this 20-inch rifle delivers the accuracy hunters demand in a compact, field-ready package. The Sierra is designed for riflemen who want the classic lines and handling of a traditional sporter but demand the versatility to dial in their shooting comfort on the fly—making it equally at home on a ranch, in the mountains, or on a longer hunting excursion where shot placement matters.

What sets the Sierra apart is its adjustable comb stock. Rather than settling for a fixed cheek weld, you can fine-tune comb height to match your specific optic mounting height and shooting position. This level of personalization is rare in this class of rifle and directly translates to faster target acquisition, reduced shooting fatigue, and more consistent performance when accuracy counts. The 4-round capacity keeps the rifle trim and quick-handling, while the proven 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge delivers excellent range and terminal performance on game.

Bergara's Wilderness Series reputation is built on delivering rifles that work hard in demanding conditions without fuss or unnecessary weight. The Sierra respects that legacy: a straightforward, no-nonsense platform that prioritizes fit and function over flash. Whether you're glassing ridgelines or setting up for a precision shot, this rifle gives you the tools to perform.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the comb adjustment easy to use in the field?

Yes. The adjustable comb lets you change cheek weld height without tools, so you can optimize your fit whether you're switching between different scopes, shooting positions, or hunting in varying terrain. It's one of the rare factory options that genuinely improves versatility without adding bulk or complexity.

What is the 6.5 Creedmoor good for?

The 6.5 Creedmoor is a modern, efficient cartridge with excellent ballistics for hunting at extended range. It delivers good velocity and energy for medium to large game while remaining relatively easy to shoot accurately. Its popularity among serious hunters and long-range enthusiasts reflects its flat trajectory and consistent performance.

Will the 20-inch barrel impact velocity or range capability?

The 20-inch length is designed to balance velocity loss with handling in the field. You'll have a more compact, quicker-handling rifle than a 24-inch alternative, though downrange performance is influenced by many factors including load, conditions, and environmental variables. Bergara's engineering in the Sierra takes this into account.

What kind of hunting is the Sierra designed for?

The Sierra is built for hunters who value accuracy, comfort, and field versatility. Its compact profile, adjustable fit, and proven cartridge make it well-suited to mountain hunting, ranch work, and general-purpose game hunting where you need a rifle that's quick to shoulder and capable at distance.
