The Bergara B-14 Crest in .22-250 Rem is a lightweight mountain rifle built for hunters who won't compromise on accuracy or pack weight. With a 20-inch 5R barrel and 100% carbon fiber stock, this bolt-action combines the ballistic performance of the .22-250 with the durability and responsiveness you need in alpine terrain. Whether you're chasing coyotes across open country or stalking varmints at distance, the Crest delivers the speed and precision that make follow-up shots count.
The carbon fiber construction isn't just marketing—it's engineered to reduce overall weight without sacrificing rigidity. The carbon spine in the stock keeps the action consistent under field conditions, and the 4140 CrMo steel barrel is built to handle the .22-250's velocity without premature wear. The 5R rifling profile improves bullet stability and reduces fouling, which matters when you're shooting lean and mean in the backcountry. Bergara's attention to fit and finish—including the sniper grey Cerakote coating—means this rifle is ready to work from day one.
The B-14 Crest appeals to hunters and shooters who value a purpose-built tool over a generic platform. If you regularly hunt above timberline, glass vast stretches of open country, or simply appreciate a rifle that handles as fast as your trigger finger, this is a serious contender. The .22-250 chambering is excellent for long-range varmint work and smaller game where bullet performance and flat trajectory matter more than stopping power.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the .22-250 Rem good for?
The .22-250 is a flat-shooting, high-velocity cartridge built for precision work on varmints and small game at distance. It delivers excellent accuracy and minimal bullet drop at typical hunting ranges, making it popular for prairie dogs, coyotes, and similar applications where speed and precision matter.
Is the Bergara B-14 Crest suitable for backcountry hunting?
Yes. The 100% carbon fiber stock and 20-inch barrel keep weight down without sacrificing strength, and the rifle is specifically designed with backcountry hunter demands in mind. The carbon spine resists field stress, and the compact barrel balances portability with ballistic performance.
What does 5R rifling do?
5R rifling (five-groove with rounded lands) improves bullet stability in flight and reduces copper and powder fouling in the bore compared to traditional rifling profiles. This means better accuracy and easier cleaning—practical benefits for hunters spending long days in the field.
What finish is the barrel?
The barrel wears a sniper grey Cerakote coating, which provides excellent corrosion resistance and a non-reflective, low-visibility appearance suited to hunting environments.
