The Avian-X Tip Up Mallard Feeder is a motorized duck decoy designed to mimic the natural feeding behavior of a live mallard in shallow water. Unlike static decoys, this drake mallard uses a patent-pending internal weight system that shifts along a threaded shaft, transitioning the decoy from a floating position to a realistic tipped-up feeding posture. That lifelike action—visible from long distances—is especially lethal on calm days when other decoys go unnoticed. The resulting water disturbance and motion trigger the feeding response in passing ducks, convincing them to commit to your spread.
The Tip Up Mallard operates in two distinct modes. Position 1 cycles continuously between 5 seconds of feeding and 5 seconds of swimming posture, creating steady, natural movement. Position 2 ramps up the action with an additional partially upright phase in each cycle, delivering maximum visible motion on the water—useful when you need extra attraction or when ducks are working at distance. Both modes are fully automated once powered on, requiring no hand manipulation or decoy jerk cords.
Runtime is handled by an included 6-volt lithium-ion rechargeable battery good for up to 12 hours per charge, with a charger supplied. Setup is straightforward: power module, battery, and decoy arrive ready to deploy. For waterfowlers hunting shallow ponds, backwater sloughs, or calm mornings, the Tip Up Mallard adds proven motion-based attraction to your rig without the complexity of electronic spinners or multiple decoy rigs.
