The ArmaLite AR-50 .50 BMG rifle is a single-shot bolt-action platform built for shooters serious about extreme long-range precision. Chambered in the formidable .50 BMG cartridge, this rifle combines raw capability with refined engineering—a rare pairing in the .50 class. The AR-50A1 delivers the accuracy you demand downrange without punishing your shoulder, thanks to its massive multi-flute muzzle brake that tames recoil into something almost manageable for a rifle of this power and purpose.
Built around an octagonal receiver bedded into a V-shaped stock, the AR-50 feels purpose-built rather than cobbled together. The triple front locking lug bolt, Sako-type extractor, and spring-loaded automatic ejection system all contribute to smooth, reliable operation shot after shot. A 30-inch chrome moly barrel with a 1:15 right-hand twist delivers the velocity and accuracy the .50 BMG is known for. The rifle ships with a 15-minute sight base ready for optics, and the MIL-STD 1913 scope rail interface gives you flexibility in how you glass this rig.
The three-section stock is both modular and functional—an extruded forend with a machined grip, vertical grip forward, and removable components mean you can configure it for your shooting position or break it down for transport. Hard anodized aluminum and manganese phosphate steel construction keeps weight reasonable for a .50 rifle at 34.1 pounds and resists corrosion in harsh field conditions. The Shilen single-stage trigger breaks at approximately 5 pounds, crisp and predictable for precision work.
Whether you're setting up a dedicated long-range platform, testing your limits at distance, or building a .50 BMG collection, the AR-50A1 earns respect as a rifle that shoots as good as it looks. Comes with owner's manual, ear plugs, and 15-minute sight base.

Frequently Asked Questions
What optics can I mount on the AR-50A1?
The rifle comes with a 15-minute sight base featuring a MIL-STD 1913 scope rail. Any modern optic compatible with Picatinny rails will work—long-range scopes, variable power options, and thermal systems all mount directly to the rail.
Is the stock modular, and can I adjust it for different shooting positions?
Yes. The three-section stock is modular with an extruded forend, machined grip, vertical grip forward, and removable components. You can configure it to suit your shooting style, whether prone, benchrest, or tactical positions.
How does the muzzle brake affect recoil?
The multi-flute muzzle brake is highly efficient at recoil management. While shooting .50 BMG always demands respect, the brake makes the AR-50A1 noticeably more manageable than similar rifles in the caliber, reducing felt recoil and muzzle rise for follow-up accuracy work.
Is the AR-50A1 accurate enough for long-range precision shooting?
The rifle is designed for accuracy at extreme distance. The octagonal receiver bedded into the V-shaped stock, triple-lug bolt, chrome moly barrel, and Shilen trigger all work together to deliver the precision expected of a dedicated .50 BMG platform.
