The Allen Winchester SXP Defender 20-gauge pump-action shotgun in Woodlands finish is a compact, reliable workhorse built for hunters and sportsmen who need a versatile cabin gun, truck gun, or general-purpose defensive shotgun. With its 18-inch barrel and cylinder choke, this 20-gauge delivers the maneuverability you want in tight brush and truck beds without sacrificing the power and pattern control that matter in the field. The contrasting Flat Dark Earth receiver and Woodland-camo composite stock give it a purposeful look that's as comfortable in a working camp as it is in the truck bed.
Built on Winchester's proven pump-action design, the SXP Defender features dual action bars and a strong rotary bolt—the fundamentals that make this shotgun quick and reliable under pressure. The 18-inch barrel sports a hard chrome-plated chamber and bore for durability, while the receiver is finished in FDE Permacote, a harder, more weather-resistant coating than traditional bluing. This is a shotgun that will hold up to hard use and poor weather without complaint.
Flexibility is baked in. The Invector-Plus choke system lets you swap tubes to match your mission: an improved cylinder choke for buckshot and home defense, a tighter constriction for small-game hunting, or slugs for hunting larger game. The removable TRUGLO fiber-optic front sight pairs with a brass bead, giving you a fast, visible sight picture in low light. Sling swivel studs are already mounted, and the Inflex Technology recoil pad keeps the shooting experience pleasant even with sustained practice. The receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope base if you want to mount optics.
This is straightforward, no-frills shotgun engineering: take a proven action, pair it with a short, handy barrel, and dress it in practical finish and camo. It works whether you're in camp, on the truck rack, or in the hunting cabin.

Frequently Asked Questions
What chokes come with the Allen Winchester SXP Defender, and can I swap them?
The shotgun ships with a cylinder choke installed. The Invector-Plus system allows you to swap chokes; you can purchase additional tubes separately to match your use—tighter constrictions for hunting small game, or specialized chokes for slugs or buckshot depending on your intended purpose.
Is this 20-gauge suitable for home defense and hunting?
Yes. The 20-gauge 3-inch chamber and ability to swap chokes make it adaptable. With an improved cylinder choke and buckshot or slugs, it serves home defense; with the right choke, it's effective for small-game hunting in the field. The 18-inch barrel is compact enough for close-quarters use and easy to maneuver in vehicles or tight spaces.
Does this shotgun come with sling and scope base installed?
The shotgun includes sling swivel studs already attached and is drilled and tapped for a scope base. You'll need to supply your own sling if you want one. A scope base is not included; you'll need to purchase and install one separately if you want to mount optics.
What makes the FDE Permacote finish different from standard bluing?
Permacote is a harder, more durable protective coating than traditional bluing, offering better resistance to weather and corrosion. It's ideal for a shotgun that will see hard field use, truck duty, or exposure to moisture.
