20" Free-Floating Button-Rifled

The Browning AB3 Micro Stalker 308 is a compact bolt-action rifle purpose-built for hunters and shooters with a shorter frame who refuse to compromise on power or accuracy. Chambered in .308 Winchester and fitted with a 22-inch free-floating barrel, this rifle delivers the hard-hitting performance of a full-size caliber in a genuinely scaled-down package. The shortened length of pull—13 inches—makes it naturally instinctive for smaller statured shooters, eliminating the awkward reach and control issues that come from adapting a standard rifle. Whether you're stalking mule deer in tight timber, setting up for a precision range session, or looking for a rifle that actually fits your build, the AB3 Micro Stalker handles like it was made for you.

Under the hood, you'll find a no-nonsense steel receiver with a matte blued finish and a robust bolt-action mechanism featuring a 60-degree bolt lift for smooth operation and quick follow-ups. The action includes a top-tang safety and a bolt unlock button for straightforward handling. Browning's hand-chambered, target-crowned barrel is free-floating—a feature that matters when you're pushing .308 accuracy—and the receiver is already drilled and tapped for scope mounts, so you're ready to ring steel right out of the box. The composite stock sports textured gripping surfaces for confident handling in all conditions, and an Inflex recoil pad helps manage the .308's kick without fuss.

This is a rifle stripped of marketing fluff and built for real work. The five-round magazine capacity keeps things simple, the sling swivel stud is installed and ready, and the matte finish won't advertise your position. If you've spent years forcing yourself to shoot a rifle that doesn't fit, the Micro Stalker changes that conversation—power and accuracy shouldn't require a compromise on ergonomics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the Browning AB3 Micro Stalker designed for?

This rifle is built for shorter-statured shooters who need a rifle that actually fits their frame. The 13-inch length of pull eliminates the control and reach issues that come from standard-length rifles. Hunters, precision shooters, and anyone under average height will find it naturally points and handles like it was made for them.

What makes the free-floating barrel important?

A free-floating barrel—one that doesn't contact the stock—is a key feature for accuracy. It allows the barrel to vibrate naturally without external interference, which improves consistency shot to shot. Combined with Browning's hand-chambering and target crown, this contributes to the precision you need for hunting and range work.

Is the scope base included, or do I need to buy one separately?

The receiver is drilled and tapped for standard scope mounts, meaning you can install a scope base directly. The base itself is not included and will need to be purchased separately based on your preferred mounting system.

Will the .308 Winchester recoil be manageable with the Inflex pad?

The Inflex recoil pad is designed to help absorb and manage felt recoil from the .308 round. Individual recoil sensitivity varies, but the pad will reduce impact compared to a hard surface. The lighter weight of the Micro Stalker platform versus full-size rifles means recoil characteristics will differ from a standard AB3.
